Have you all thought that you could do a better Job, especially after the world cup, well now's your chance.

Why not join our fantasy League to pick your whit's against some of the finest football brains.

Everybody's welcome to play, all managers and players from the men's and vets teams.

Managers from the Mini and Youth Soccer teams, Lets get all our parents involved as well.

Anyone can be involved so please pass on and to any friends, family or mates from work.

Entrance into our league is £20 per entry, with 50% of the funds going in to a prize pool and 50% going to Wickford Town Youth FC.

So the more people we get involved the more the Winners will receive and the more we can raise for WTYFC.

Last season we got 50 people to play and managed to give out a prize of £500 and also raised £500 for the club which helps keep the subs down for everyone for this season.

That’s £20 for the whole season with the chance of winning LARGE CASH PRIZES while raising money for a good cause.

Prizes will be decided when we have an idea of the amount of players involved.

If interested, just register your team first and I can see who's there and who needs to pay. All Funds need to be paid to me by end of August at the latest or your team will be removed from the league.

There's no need to wait to play, you can make as many changes as you like to your team before the season starts, so no excuses about being on holiday, get your team in as soon as possible so you don’t miss all the fun.

What you need to do is log on the this web site http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

create and register your team and then add your team to our League.

Its called WICKFORD TOWN and enter code 259819-69553 and this will put you in our League.

Over the season you can transfer players, change team selection and put as much effort into managing your team as you like. All the rules about the how it all works are on the web site.

Many thanks and good luck

Clive

At the begining of this month 14 wanna be golfers enjoyed a days golf at Crondon Parl Golf for Wickford Towns first Golf Society day.

The day started well with Bacon rolls and coffee and for me this turned out to be the highlight of the day.  To be honest, it was'nt much better for Bill (Chairman of the society and captain of the day) who started three off the Tee.

After the recent high temperatures the cool morning and overcast sky was welcome.  Each group got on there merry way and all except one made it past the ladies Tee.

Tony Silk followed up the rear in a royal blue eco-friendly disability car (golf cart).

And so we all set off in our groups.  From time to time we waved at each other as we passed (I think they was waving) and in the good nature of golf assisted each other in locating lost balls.

As I started up the 16th hole I mentioned to my companions how hot it seemed to have got in the afternoon.  They responded saying that the clouds had cleared quite quick but I wouldnt have known as I spent most of my time in the trees.

The round was coming to an end as a I tee'd off the 18th.  I had a quick count up and was amazed that 10 of my balls had been stolen by rabbits or squirrels.  Afterall, I knew exactley where I had hit the ball.

A quick meal and a couple of drinks later and we was ready for the presentation.  The raffle was drawn and the prizes's given.  I won't ruin the storey's of "how close" or "how long", or of mr Boakes getting lost in the long grass of the rough.

It was a good day out and good fun was had by all.  The next Golf Society day will be posted on this website.

Everyone is welcome no matter how good or bad you think you are.
